“There is no denying this performer’s courage, engagement and intelligence.”
Born in Toronto to a Haitian father and an American mother, Rachelle Elie was an actress before becoming a comedian. Don’t be fooled by her sparkly appearance and soft voice—Rachelle is armed with a biting sense of humor that will surprise you every time! A proud representative of Generation X, mother of two (whom she claims to love), and ex-wife of an OB-GYN, she wrote five one-woman shows in the language of Shakespeare before conquering the French-Canadian market.
In just four years, Rachelle has appeared in four televised galas on CBC Gem, ICI TOU TV, and ICI Télé, and will be making her fifth appearance on TV this summer! She was nominated as
“Découverte de l’année” at the 2025 Les Olivier Awards. Rachelle has been a guest at the biggest comedy festivals, including Just for Laughs, performing on gala stages as well as large outdoor stages, allowing her to perform in front of more than 20,000 people! For her, taking the stage isn’t a midlife crisis—it’s her destiny!
